A bid on Outbid Green is a number of trees, and that same number is handed to the people who plant them. We watched paid leaderboards sell attention and keep every cent of it, and the only thing that ever grew was the people running them. If money is going to decide who sits at the top, something other than the house should come out of it.
The trees are real trees
This is the part people misread, so plainly: every tree bid here is a real seedling planted in real soil, outdoors. Nothing is planted "in the app". The 3D wood beside the board is only a picture of a real order - one block drawn for one tree going in the ground.
A bid is trees, never dollars
One tree costs $5 and that is the whole price list. You choose a number of trees, the board stores that number, and the number you bid is the number that goes to the planting. There is no percentage split.
Someone with a shovel does the planting
The trees are passed on to a verified reforestation partner who plants and looks after them. We run a leaderboard, not a nursery, so the planting is done by people whose whole job it is.
The grove is the receipt for all of it
The 3D grove on the board draws one block for every tree bid on this site, with nothing sampled away and nothing rounded up for the picture. If the grove grew, so did the order.
Your own count follows your name
Every cleared bid returns a Stripe receipt with the trees it is planting and the rank it bought. Totals only ever go up, so the trees under your listing only ever accumulate.
Outbid and you keep your trees
Losing a spot costs you the rank, never the planting. The tree count next to your name stays there for good, and someone passing you does not undo a single one of them.
Planted where they do the most good
The partner picks the sites, the species and the season, because a tree in the wrong place is a photograph rather than a forest. We hand over the count and stay out of the agronomy.

Rules and questions
The app with the most trees sits first, and the only way past it is to bid more trees than it holds. No editorial picks, no weighting, no favours. Ties are broken by click count.
Anything unlawful where it operates does not get a listing: piracy, stolen data, fraud, malware, or anything you would have to hide from a payment processor. Those listings are removed, and the trees already bid still go in the ground.
Inflating your own click count, charging back a cleared bid, or impersonating an app you have nothing to do with all end the listing. Bidding on an app you like is fine, pretending to be it is not.
Payments are not refundable, and a bid cannot be moved to another listing. The trees are ordered as soon as the payment clears, so by the time you could ask for it back it is already an order with a planting partner. Being outbid is not a refund either: the rank moves, the trees stay yours.
A product holds one spot, and topping that spot up is how it climbs. Listing the same thing twice to hold two places is removed, and the higher of the two totals is the one that survives.
The address on a listing has to open the thing it advertises: no redirect chains, no bait, no page that asks for a login before it says what it is. What people click is what they were promised.
Edit the name, the one-liner, the logo or the link whenever you like. Editing never touches your total, so nothing you change costs you your rank.
Yes, the ranking is purely money. The highest total bid takes first place and ties break on click count. There is no editorial pick, no secret weighting and no way to game it other than bidding more trees than the app above you.
No, a bid never expires. Your tree total is permanent and only ever goes up. You keep your position until someone bids more than you have, and topping up at any time puts you back above them.
Every bid is passed to a verified reforestation partner as trees, and the running count on the board is the same number we send them. Your receipt carries the tree count for your own bid.
You can. Boosting someone else pushes their listing up the board and plants trees under their name. People do it for tools they love, and nobody has complained yet.
Anyone opening your listing from the board, counted once per press, shown next to your rank so buyers can see what the spot is actually worth before they bid on it.
The minimum opening bid is two trees, which is $10. That puts you on the board and two trees in the ground. Where you land depends on who you outbid on the way in.
